Aluminum-beryllium alloy
1. Product Features
Aluminum-beryllium master alloy (product code AlBe) typically contains 2% to 5% beryllium. Beryllium can significantly reduce surface oxidation of aluminum alloy melts, reduce burning loss, and improve fluidity. It is based on aluminum.
II. Applicable Scenarios
It is suitable for aluminum alloys with high magnesium content (such as 5XXX series), to prevent magnesium oxidation and melt combustion, and is also used for high-demand casting aluminum alloys.
III. Dosage
The recommended addition amount is 0.05% to 0.1% of the aluminum liquid mass (0.001% to 0.005% in terms of beryllium). The amount used is extremely small, so precise calculation is required.
IV. Usage
1. Aluminum liquid temperature: 720℃~750℃.
2. After slagging, put the aluminum-beryllium alloy block into the melt and stir it thoroughly.
3. After dissolution, let it stand and skim off the dregs.
4. Be aware that beryllium is toxic. During operation, ensure adequate ventilation and wear protective gear.
V. Precautions
Beryllium and its compounds are toxic, and strict protective measures must be taken during handling to avoid inhaling dust; they should be stored in dedicated containers and clearly labeled.

VII. Storage conditions
Keep in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated place, with dedicated personnel and designated cabinets for safekeeping.
