1. Product Features

20Zr zirconium additive is a flux-type or aluminum-type block product, containing approximately 20% zirconium. It is used to add zirconium to aluminum alloys, refine grain size, and enhance recrystallization temperature and creep resistance.

II. Applicable Scenarios

It is suitable for aluminum-zirconium alloy, aluminum alloy conductors, high-temperature aluminum alloys, and applications requiring microstructure refinement.

III. Dosage

Additive dosage (kg) = weight of aluminum liquid (kg) × (target zirconium % - original zirconium %) ÷ 20%. The typical addition amount is 0.05% to 0.3% of the aluminum liquid mass. The calculation should take into account the actual absorption rate, which is generally between 90-98%, and is influenced by factors such as aluminum liquid temperature, absorption time, and stirring intensity.

IV. Usage

The temperature of the aluminum liquid is 730℃～760℃. After skimming, the zirconium additive is pressed into the bottom with a bell jar and stirred thoroughly. The dissolution time is 15～30 minutes. After standing and skimming, samples are taken for analysis.

V. Precautions

The zirconium additive contains a low amount of zirconium and should be used according to the required amount; it should be stored in a moisture-proof environment.
