ABN sodium salt deterioration agent

1. Product Features

ABN sodium salt modifier is a powdered product containing sodium mixed salt, which is used for modifying the eutectic silicon of aluminum-silicon alloys. It changes the silicon phase from flaky to granular, thereby improving the mechanical properties of the alloy.

II. Applicable Scenarios

Suitable for modification treatment of aluminum-silicon alloys (such as A356, ZL101, etc.), where there are no special restrictions on sodium content.

III. Dosage

The recommended addition amount is 0.2% to 0.5% of the mass of the aluminum liquid. The typical value is 0.3%.

IV. Usage

The temperature of the aluminum liquid is 720℃~750℃. The modifier is pressed into the bottom of the aluminum liquid using a bell jar or sprayed into it using a powder sprayer, and stirred for 3~5 minutes. It is then left to stand for 5~10 minutes, after which the slag is removed and the casting is carried out. The effective time for modification is about 30~60 minutes, so casting should be carried out as soon as possible.

V. Precautions

Sodium salts are prone to moisture absorption, so they should be stored in a moisture-proof environment; after deterioration, avoid prolonged heat preservation.

VII. Storage conditions

Store in a ventilated and dry place, and strictly prevent moisture.

8. Shelf life

After 6 months, the effect decreases due to moisture.
