AD1-1 Slag Remover
1. Product Features
AD1-1 slagging agent is formulated from a blend of various inorganic salts and is available in powder or granular forms. This agent exhibits excellent wetting, adsorption, and separation capabilities for oxide dross on the surface of aluminum melts. It rapidly loosens and dries the slag phase, reducing metal entrainment and facilitating its removal, thereby enhancing the recovery rate of aluminum liquid. The product boasts stable performance and wide applicability, produces low fume emissions during use, and exhibits minimal corrosivity to furnace linings.
II. Applicable Scenarios
It is suitable for most aluminum alloy melting scenarios, including recycled aluminum, cast aluminum alloys, wrought aluminum alloys, etc. It can be used for melting new materials, recycling scrap materials, and slagging processes for mixed melts. It is suitable for various melting equipment such as reverberatory furnaces and crucible furnaces.
III. Dosage
The recommended addition amount is 0.1% to 0.2% (mass fraction) of the aluminum liquid mass. The typical recommended value is 0.15%. For situations where the surface dross is thick or the scrap is dirty, the amount can be appropriately increased to 0.25%.
IV. Usage
After the aluminum material is completely melted, control the temperature of the aluminum liquid within the range of 680℃~750℃. Evenly spread the AD1-1 slagging agent on the scum layer on the surface of the melt.
Gently stir the scum layer with a slag rake to ensure sufficient contact between the slagging agent and the slag phase, with a reaction time of approximately 1 to 2 minutes. Observe the slag layer gradually changing from viscous to loose and dry, and the aluminum liquid entrapped in the slag clearly precipitating and flowing back into the melt. Use the slag rake to thoroughly remove the surface dry slag from the furnace. After slagging is completed, refining or direct casting operations can be carried out according to process requirements. If the slagging effect is not satisfactory at one time, a small amount of slagging agent can be added and the operation repeated.
V. Precautions
The slagging agent is only used for treating the dross on the surface of the melt and should not be pressed into the deep part of the aluminum liquid. The temperature of the aluminum liquid should not exceed 760℃, as excessive heat will lead to increased oxidation of the aluminum liquid. During operation, wear high-temperature resistant gloves, protective face masks, and work clothes to avoid burns from splashes of aluminum liquid.
The slagging process should be conducted in a well-ventilated area to minimize the accumulation of fumes. The excavated hot slag should be placed in a dedicated slag box for cooling to avoid contact with flammable materials.
VI. Packaging specifications
2 kg/bag, 20 kg/box (customizable according to customer requirements)
VII. Storage conditions
Store in a ventilated and dry place, and strictly prevent moisture. If the product becomes damp, it may clump, affecting the uniformity of distribution.
8. Shelf life
12 months in an unopened state. If the product is slightly affected by moisture, it can be dried at 120℃, sieved, and then used again; if it is severely affected by moisture, it is recommended to discard it.
